Fitness Magazine Cover Model Search 2015 - Post 1
Lately I have been addicted to watching America's next Top Model (ANTP)
I have come to the conclusion that, each of the applicant for the USN Face of Fitness should also star in a 10 episode programme. Where we tell our story, and we are coached by various professionals in the industry and then the best female wins. However this is only for the cover but I am taking ideas from Tyra Banks.
This year i am entering the USN Face of Fitness Competition.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my story and giving reasons as to why I believe i would make an amazing and inspiring Fitness Model. More importantly why i would be a great ambassador for USN as well as Fitness magazine.
First Letter for Fitness: .... F....
Fun.... Fit ... Fabulous... Fighter ... Freedom
I was glued to the television when Miss South Africa or Miss Universe was on.
I always wanted to enter Miss Tinkerbell, but never had the opportunity. I wanted to be a beauty princess, but my height did not allow me to, and then a gained quite a bit of extra fat.
If you have followed me on Facebook (Inspired by May or Maylene Kim May), Twitter(@inspirebymay) or Instagram (inspirebymay); you would have noticed my transformation.
I may not have the height to enter Miss South Africa, but my sister reminded me a long time ago that I could still step on stage and become Miss Bikini, and then go onto enter Worlds.
I have stepped on stage, and I love this new world of fitness i have found. I love more so the fact that i receive a lot of positive feedback from many woman locally and internationally (this is the power of social media and the pleasure of having internet).
My goal is to use this is a platform to inspire more females to live a happier, healthier, fitter and more fulfilled life.
I am also an image consultant, personal trainer, yoga instructor, make up artist and completed my diploma in communications.
What does having all this education mean if i cannot share my knowledge and experience with the world?
I have already posted my first view which was:
1. Yes you need to have an amazing physique, but there has to be more substance to the person on the cover i believe.
I say "amazing" physique but i am realistic in the sense that as a Fitness cover model, I want you to love the body you have, and train hard and eat correctly so you will always "love", "appreciate", and strive to improve on your physique.
I would not push you to stand on stage, nor force anyone to do any exercise they hate, but I will encourage and inspire you to find a form or exercise you do enjoy. As a qualified personal trainer, i will take the time out to work with you, put a programme and eating plan together that will make you happy.
Living a fit lifestyle is not about what you have to give up, it is more about what you gain, and that is how you need to see your lifestyle changes.
Fitness should be Fun... you need freedom of choice when it comes to the activity you choose... you need to have a fighting spirit to succeed... as a female you should always look fabulous (like confidence it is a state of mind...)
Next letter .... Fitness... Letter I ....
